The existing Carver Research Foundation Building will be selectively demolished and altered to accommodate the construction of the Center for Genomics and Health Disparity Research. The project includes the addition of a new one-story, 8,900 SF laboratory annex and a comprehensive package of site improvements.
The new annex will house a state-of-the-art biomedical laboratory, office space, and service areas. The building envelope will feature brick veneer, an aluminum storefront system, ACM panels, and a high-performance roofing system. Site improvements will include the reorganization of the existing parking lot, construction of a retaining wall along the southwest boundary, and the creation of a new plaza with grand entry stairs. New hardscape, landscaping, and site lighting will complete the exterior enhancements.
